We call several places, and exercise care in choosing the right vet for our pets. We mostly focus on pricing, services, type of practice, convenience in getting there, hours of operation, specialization, and the looks of the facility. These are all very important issues when choosing your veterinarian, but there are other important issues when getting to know your vet. Sometimes, we think of these factors in the end, and we forget to pay special attention.

The Lovable Siamese Cat

14 May; Author: mannib

The Siamese cat is a popular breed in America. Its good looks and lovable disposition makes him a favorite of many households. Originally from Thailand, the Siamese cat has acclimated well in North America and claims his territory in the many hearts of Americans.

Through history, this breed was thought to bring good luck and protection, as well as prosperity – maybe, because it was found in many wealthy homes, and even palaces. Their migration traces from Thailand to Europe, England, and eventually to America.

The Siamese is a beautiful animal. Its color is usually light, and gradually darkens, with the darkest around the ears, feet, legs, face, and tail. The eyes are beautifully slanted, usually blue, and the body slim, elongated, and elegant. The hair is short and there are variations to the colors. Their lifespan is about 15-20 years and the weight ranges to up to 16 pounds. Their lovable temperament is what makes them such cute pets, besides their looks.Reading Vet

They are extremely affectionate and love to play. They request their owner’s attention more than any other breed, and they may appear to be needy. They like a lot of attention from their owners, and prefer to be with people. They form strong bonds with their owners. They are also very social, and like the company of other cats, they do not like to be alone. Siamese cats are also very vocal, so if you want a quiet friend, maybe this is not the breed for you.

There are over ten breeds that descend from the Siamese, mixed with other breeds. Some of them are Burmese, Ocicat, Balinese, Himalayan … Their inquisitive and intelligent minds, along with a loving nature, makes the Siamese a candidate for mixing. The pricing of a Siamese cat depends on the lineage and characteristics, the purer the more expensive it will be. However, if you want a Siamese cat you do not have to pay a lot of money; there are many rescue groups and shelters where you can find one. A good home and tons of love are a requirement for these friendly and social creatures.

Siamese cats are perfect as a companion to older people, as they like to interact, and “talk” with their owners. They love to spend time in your lap, and sleep with you. They will become best pals and a member of the family. They will follow you around and will seem to be interested in anything you do.

When thinking of getting a Siamese cat, consider how its breed traits and social interaction will match the style of your family. If your family is always on the go, and very active in outside activities, maybe this breed is not for you because it requires a lot of attention and social interaction. Before getting a cat, do a little research on the type of breed (if you are getting a pure breed) to make the best selection according to your lifestyle. This rule applies to any type of pet.

Top Tips For Cat Care!

10 May; Author: mannib

One of the most popular pets is the cat. The cat is the perfect companion to many different personalities. It is small, excellent for apartment duelers. It is an independent animal who likes to spend some time alone and to sleep for hours – just perfect for the person who works most of the day. If you like a cuddly animal, it can be that too – when in the mood. It can be the perfect companion for the elderly bound at home, as well as the right size pet for kids.Reading Vet

Cats have been around for thousands of years. They have been used for hunting and rodent elimination; they have also been adored in temples, and persecuted as evil beings due to ignorant popular beliefs. Until today, some of those myths plague the minds of some people, who cringe at the sight of a black cat crossing their path.

There are many cat breeds today, and cat fanciers and breeders keep experimenting with more variations of some breeds. These breeds get their recognition through cat shows, registries, and cat societies. Some of these organizations do not recognize other breeds. There are breeds that date back through history, and many that have mixed altogether. Some of the most common breeds are the domestic short hair or common cat, long hair cat, the Persian cat – a favorite amongst cat lovers, and of course, the popular loving Siamese.

Breeds range in price, from modest pricing to very expensive, depending on lineage. The purer the breed the more money you pay for it. Cat breeds have their own special characteristics such as physical traits in their face, body, and color. The more pronounced and perfect these traits are, the more appealing the animal is for show. The more popular these shows and cat fancier societies became, the more breeds started to show up.

Unfortunately, there are many homeless and abandoned cats, and many generations become feral, due to no human contact and love. They multiply by the hundreds and stay in clans throughout neighborhoods, claiming their territory. Many abandoned cats are adoptable, but feral cats are hard to adopt since they lack the human contact since birth. They are very aloof and distrust people, so they run away when approached. They will become scared and scratch if you try to capture them. Many will succumb to diseases such as feline leukemia and spread it to others in their clan.

When thinking about getting a cat as a pet, consider adopting one from a shelter. You will be providing a safe and lovable home for a homeless, rescued, or abandoned pet, and in return, you will get the unconditional love and devotion of a furry friend.

A pet gives us a sense of happiness and well-being. They give us unconditional love and hours of fun and company. Most households have some kind of a pet – the most popular ones being dogs and cats. Sometimes, a member of your family may become allergic to the family pet. In addition, you may have some friends or family members who start showing symptoms of allergies when they visit. If you are not about to get rid of your pet, what could you do to handle these allergies?
